Welcome to Kilmer Elementary School – version 2010-11! 

Much has changed at Kilmer this year.  My name is Chuck Stovall and I’m extremely honored to be the Principal for Kilmer Elementary.  This will be the first year that our sixth graders stay with us before heading off to Lewis Palmer Middle School as seventh graders and we intend to make this one of their best years ever.  For our sixth graders, we will offer a variety of exploratory classes not previously available at Kilmer.  We have amazing new teachers and para-professionals on board.  This year, perhaps like few we’ve ever experienced, we will deal with significant budgetary challenges.  This summer we installed many new computers and even added a second computer lab for increased student access.   For before and after-school care, we have added My Place at Kilmer which will be starting as soon as state licensing is finalized.

In spite of all these changes, so very much will remain the same.  Kilmer is known as a place where our students and families are free to grow and learn.  It is a friendly place where all are welcome and can contribute; where we pursue excellence in teaching and learning, well beyond what is revealed in test scores.  This spring, as I visited and participated in Kilmer activities, I often heard the word “family” used to describe our school.  My commitment to you is to do what I can to facilitate meaningful growth for each one of our “family” this year so that in May 2011, we’ll all look back and marvel at how far we’ve come.
